Seance is from Ingenious Media, Dark Castle Entertainment and HanWay Films. The film was produced by Alex Mace, Matt Baker, John Schoenfelder, Russell Ackerman, Tomas “Dutch” Deckaj and Isaac Clements.
"The wheels of the Manitoba film industry are turning once again after being frozen by a COVID-19 shutdown in November. Manitoba was the only province in which the film industry was shut down completely. Now that the industry is back in operation as of last Friday, production companies are mobilizing with projects going to camera in the coming months."
The Honourable Steven Guilbeault, Minister of Canadian Heritage, confirmed today that $50 million has been added to the initial funding for the Short-Term Compensation Fund for Canadian Audiovisual Productions (STCF). The fund was launched last fall to support audiovisual industry productions during the COVID-19 pandemic.
A number of Canadian provinces and territories have recently made changes to their rules around interprovincial travel, requiring newcomers to self-isolate at their destinations for 14 days. This includes interprovincial travelers. There is, however, an exemption in Manitoba, where cast, crew and other persons directly involved in a film production may be exempted from the 14-day self-isolation requirement if they do not have COVID-19 symptoms. Of course anyone travelling from outside of Canada still needs to isolate for 14 days.
With American Horror Story DOP Michael Goi attached to direct, The Elevator Game is to shoot in Manitoba, Canada in Summer 2021 as a Fearworks production in association with AMP International and Buffalo Gal Pictures.
